I can't even believe this month marks my one year anniversary since I started writing. Wow. So much has happened in the span of twelve months. Of course I wish it was a tad bit more than it is, like say an offer of representation. Still it's been incredible and I can't complain considering I'd never written anything outside of high school or an email until last August, and only a year later I'm waiting to hear back on a real life agent who's reading my book. Crazy.
Oh wait, did you hear that? I think I may have tooted my own horn a little there. Forgive me but that's what keeps me moving along when I have those moments of thinking I have no business trying to see my book in print so soon in my writing journey. The way I see it is without pride in your work and accomplishments you can't really survive in the chaos that is querying, rejection and - well I can't say what else since I'm not there yet. But I'm pretty sure it's something you need every stop along the way.
Sooo, I'm going to have a little contest in honor of this special time and I'd like to know what your thoughts are on the topic. What would you like to win? Gift cards? Books? Something else?
Please leave a comment on what you'd like to see as a prize and even suggestions on what sort of contest it should be. Don't worry it won't be too complicated and I'm already planning on having two - one for a new follower and one for existing. Just because I like to play fair that way.
Toot toot!

My writing anniversary is coming up on September 1st. It's been a wild ride, but I wouldn't go back and change a thing!
Perhaps it should be a creative writing contest? The winner should have their blog featured on your site. What do you think?
Happy Anniversary!! =D
Hmm...I know as prizes I always like a nice critique, some other writers might really like that.
Or maybe you got an old book lying around for a giveaway! I love when people do that!
I like the creative writing contest--that could be lots of fun!
Happy Anniversary!
As far as contests go, is there anything you could do with or on your blog that would help with your writing goals? That you haven't done yet?
Something like, "In honour of my anniversary I am...."
You could do that, coupled with a give-away, a guest feature or something of the like.
I don't even remember when my "writing" anniversary is. It's been that long. But congrats to you! Writing is awesome!
Hmm...prizes. Being a writer, I'd be happy with a guest blog spot, or a query packet critique or...Something along those lines. You know? Something...writer-y. *cheesy grin*
I think an interview would be cool. Those are always a good way to get spotlighted.
Happy anniversary! I've been writing too long to remember, but my blogging anniversary is this month as well. One year of being online and informed in the writing world!
Congrats!
I like the earlier suggestion of the guest article. Since it is your writing anniversary, it should be something to help celebrate your writing. If you end up with a creative writing contest, you should choose a topic meaningful to you as a writer ^^
About the prize, I think everyone will enjoy something writer-ly. Books are always a good one, and so are gift cards. You can't go wrong with those.
Happy Anniversary! We just celebrated ours a few weeks ago. September marks our blogiversary, so that should be interesting.
Thank you for all the great suggestions and comments! I'll be posting in the next couple of weeks with my contest.
Wow! Twelve months and you've got an agent reading your stuff! That is amazing. Congratulations! I'm embarrassed to say when my anniversary is. I think I'm closing in on some kind of stone. Paper anniversary was a long time ago for me!
Happy Anniversary! Contest? No idea. You'll come up with something awesome. :)
Happy Anniversary Becky!!! Cant believe its been a year! I still remember reading the first part you sent me like it happened last week! I have no clue what you should give away..but i am not a writer...
Congrats on your anniversary! I passed mine awhile ago but didn't celebrate. I should!
